| I took a beginner's quilting class at Sew Contempo here in Webster, Texas (www.sewcontempo.com). Linda taught us the 12 basic blocks that you see above. She showed us how to pick out fabrics by colors, cut the fabric, sew the fabric, arrange the blocks, add on sashing, add on borders, and how to bind the quilt. I added on two appliquéd and embroidered geisha at the opposite corners. The represent my mother in law, Miyoko, and her sister, Kazuko. This quilt will always be my favorite since it is my first one. |
